Perinatal Mental Health
DID YOU KNOW…? 1 in 7 mothers and 1 in 10 partners suffer from postpartum depression.
Dr. Andrea Craighead is certified in perinatal mental health - assessing, treating, and caring for patients throughout the pregnancy and into the baby’s first year. While many parents experience some mild mood changes during or after the birth of a child, 15-20% of women experience more significant symptoms of anxiety or depression.
Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) can occur during pregnancy or postpartum, and include depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, bipolar, or psychosis.

You can give us a call at 970-644-5013 and speak with our registered medical assistant, Mandy. She can send you our intake paperwork. Once you complete and return the paperwork, we will review it to make sure that we are a good fit for your needs.

Prior to your initial evaluation, you will be asked to fill out our intake form. This might seem like a lot, but it is important and helpful for the provider to have that information ahead of time. That way, your initial meeting can focus on your priorities.
The first evaluation will be scheduled for one hour, giving you and your provider time to thoroughly discuss your symptoms, concerns, and overall health. Each evaluation is different, as each person presents with different symptoms and needs.
-
You may already be taking medication, or considering this as a treatment option. Your provider will work together with you to create a treatment plan to determine the best medication for your symptoms. The appropriate medication can help you find relief from your symptoms.
-
Your provider will appreciate a current medication list of all medications you are taking, both prescription and over the counter.
Please bring your insurance card to your first appointment as well.
If you have any of your records available, you can have those ready as well. If you do not have access to your records, you can fill out a Release of Information form which allows us to request records on your behalf.
-
